Our One-Stop Approach To Solving Your Problem
Your Initial Consultation
Your initial consultation is all about you telling us your story regarding your problem. Initially you will be required to fill in some paperwork which documents your medical history along with some general admin details. This enables us to eliminate any medical conditions which may mimic back pain or may make treatment unsuitable. Once completed you will spend approximately 45 minutes with your practitioner who will take a detailed case history where you will describe at length you problem and the impact this has on your life and those around you.
After your initial consiltation your practitioner will conduct a thorough clinical examination. Gowns are made available to all patients or you may wear comfortable shorts if you prefer. At every stage of the process you will be kept informed as to what your practitioner is doing and why. You will be encouraged to ask any questions that come to mind. Although this will be conducted in a relaxed and friendly manner our approach to your complaint is very professional and all the information is treated highly confidentially.
Once all the information is gathered we will explain to you, in understandable language, what we feel the problem is and what we recommend as an appropriate course of action at this stage. Once more you will be encouraged to ask questions to enable you to leave the clinic as fully informed as possible about your problem. Should we require any further information from your previous healthcare providers or your GP we will take steps to action this process immediately. Similarly should you require X-rays or we will take the necessary action to arrange them immediately. Our aim is that you will leave the clinic reassured about your problem and informed of necessary do’s and dont’s.
You will then return for a Second visit where we will go through our Report of Findings.
The Second visit gives us the time to fully describe your problem and the way in which we are going to approach treatment. Treatment is very much a partnership between you and us and therefore we need to let you know what you need to do and what we intend to do to not only start on the road to recovery but make the necessary changes to try to prevent future recurrences.
We will explain all the elements of your personal treatment plan and the reason for their inclusion, so that you can fully understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. As in any medical intervention there are certain risks which will be fully highlighted to you and treatment will only proceed with your written consent after all necessary explanations.
We will design a treatment program that is tailored to you and your particular problem. It may contain certain elements of all areas of expertise we offer at Lowford Clinic. The exact nature of any given treatment plan is dependent on multiple factors but rest assured that your plan will be appropriate for you. Treatment plans also highlight areas of your lifestyle that may be contributing to the problem and also methods to control these issues. Most treatments on offer are suitable for clients of all ages.
