I obtained my first degree in Zoology and Microbiology from The University of Reading in 1993 before pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Working alongside medical professionals led me into medicolegal work where I worked as a Risk Manager for The Medical Defence Union, where I provided training to Doctors,in best practice and to minimise risks to patients.
In 2009, I made the decision that I wanted to treat patients rather than just work alongside medical professionals in a business context so I returned to university to undertake a BSc in Podiatry. After four years of study, I graduated and have gained great satisfaction from treating patients and making their day to day living less painful and more rewarding.
On a personal level, I have a beautiful little girl called Holly, who I love spending my “free time” with and love outdoor pursuits, such as camping and hiking.
To relax, I socialise with friends or immerse myself in a good book
